FEST Online Forum #5 – Storytelling Performance: How to build your career and Nurture the Art Form

FEST Online Forum #5 – Storytelling Performance: How to build your career and Nurture the Art Form

Thursday the 3th of September, 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm CET (Brussels)

In this session Author Hannah McDowall from the UK will take us through the seven 'Drivers' of the storytelling performance market described and explored in her new book. That means the seven factors which shape the performance storytelling market in England, although they apply elsewhere in Europe too. We will discuss these and begin to problem solve how to reduce their limiting effect to boost our individual opportunities as storytellers and boost the visibility of performance storytelling over all.

Call for Submissions- St. John's Storytelling Festival goes digital

The 17th annual St. John’s Storytelling Festival will look a little bit different this year. With the safety of performers and audiences in mind, the magic of storytelling usually reserved for concert halls will be broadcasting live online! Rather than following a traditional festival format, the St. John’s Storytelling Festival will host one spectacular evening of live online storytelling on the last Wednesday evening of the month from August through November.

Bridging North America! Storytelling Event

The three countries on North America are always making treaties together – CUSMC, USMCA & NAFTA – just being three of them.  We have often visited each other’s countries for vacations, to see family and because they are “just right there”.  Now, storytellers from these three amazing countries – Canada, United States and Mexico – are bridging across this continent, making a treaty of friendship under the universal contract of story.  We will be sharing indigenous stories, local folklore, personal narratives and music.  Join us for this great borderless celebration of North American connection.
