What we do
Storytellers of Canada-Conteurs du Canada (SC-CC) supports the art of oral storytelling through its storytellers and its story listeners.

Storytellers of Canada/Conteurs du Canada (SC-CC)
Advocates for the art form of storytelling;
Advocates for storytelling groups and individual tellers;
Provides opportunities for education, training, and professional development through conferences and workshops;
Promotes communication between storytelling groups and storytellers via our website and various social media
Provides a directory of members;
Promotes upcoming storytelling activities and opportunities by means of calendars and newsletters
Provides the latest National Arts News from the Canadian Arts Coalition ;
Showcases member’s talents and products in the Member’s Online Library
Provides group insurance through the Writer’s Coalition
Develops and maintains contact with other national gatherings and professional associations.
Provides grants to assist members planning events for World Storytelling Day and Canadian Storytelling Night.
Recognizes outstanding Canadian Storytellers through its StorySave Programme. StorySave records the work of master storytellers and makes it available to listeners world-wide as part of a living legacy through the web site and through the production of CDs.
Recognizes Canadian storytellers who have made a significant contribution to the art of storytelling Canada through the Storykeeper Award, and encourages new storytellers through the “Emerging Storyteller” Award.
