Sad news - Lesley Parlane
It is with much sadness that SC-CC reports the passing of Lesley Parlane on Saturday, November 24 2018, from cancer. Lesley was one of the founding members of the Indigenous Advisory Council of SC-CC and an artist living in Ottawa. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends.

The St. John’s Storytelling Festival has just wrapped another year – and boy have we outdone ourselves! The mix of local and visiting tellers was so varied and so dynamic, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate the art of story.

The deadline for the Emerging Teller Award has been extended to November 21st! Get your applications in for this great opportunity.
Our Emerging Storyteller Scholarship offers four months’ mentoring for an emerging storyteller, by an accomplished teller, plus complimentary admission to our upcoming conference and one-year membership to SC-CC. To celebrate the award, the recipient will be invited to perform at one of the conference events.
