Storytellers of Canada Radio

Living Stories in a Virtual World

The SC-CC radio project is an effort to create a wonderful radio experience that explores the Canadian Storytelling landscape, and a community driven initiative to harness the hidden radio potential within local storytelling guilds across the country.

As you can hear, we stream 24/7 and rotate a selection of great stories from the SC-CC Story Save collection, and as well, we feature recorded submissions from SC-CC members and partner record labels.

Currently, with the help of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Flavelle Foundation, we are building what we are calling a Rover Network.

THE ROVER NETWORK
Our SC-Radio-CC Rover network is made up of Radio Rovers and Rovin'Producers linking local storytelling guilds across the country.
If your guild is a member of the SC-CC, you can be trained as a Radio Rover, learn the radio basics to conduct interviews, and collect great stories from the storytellers in your community that we can then incorporate into our existing shows.
Once you have learned the Rover ropes, you can be trained as a Rovin' Producer and pitch and produce your own radio shows with members of your guild or with other Rovers.

Would you like to share some recordings with our listeners?
Would like to inquire about our Rover training?
Or maybe you have some ideas about our radio project.
Whichever the case, contact the SC-CC Radio and Podcast Program manager,
David Merleau at radio@storytellers-conteurs.ca

CODE OF ETHICS

SC-Radio-CC is guided by the mandate of the SC-CC, and the principles of respect and honor due to storytellers and stories across the many traditions of oral storytelling.  We also voluntarily following the broadcast code set out by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters.
