Call for Proposals



Storytellers of Canada – Conteurs du Canada is seeking proposals from experienced professional storytellers for the next SC-CC conference, which will be held in Halifax Nova Scotia from June 18 - 22, 2025 at Saint Mary's University. We are looking for artists to perform in two evening concerts and to deliver Master classes and/or workshops reflecting the diversity inherent to oral tradition. We will also be offering a virtual conference package that includes access to live-streamed concerts, presentations, and a selection of online-only workshops.

We’re excited to announce that the next SC-CC Conference will be in Halifax from June 18-22, 2025!


The theme of the Halifax Conference will be 'Roots and Branches: celebrating shared heritage and cultural linkages old and new.'


So, come east and enjoy many stories, much music and dancing filled with east coast charm and excitement. 


The conference will have plenty of stories with concerts, workshops, swaps and casual opportunities to share. We will have field trips and chances to explore a bit of both Halifax and Dartmouth. 


And the best part is meeting other storytellers from across the country and beyond!


As a bonus, explore our beautiful province by including a family vacation or a road trip to create memories and stories to last a lifetime.

We are thrilled to share that our 2024 Conference will be taking place in Sherbrooke, Quebec at Bishop's University from July 10th-14th, 2024. The theme for our 2024 Conference will be ‘Harmony’. This is a time to connect with nature, with one another, and with yourself in the beautiful setting of Quebec’s Eastern Townships.

The 2020 Annual Conference in Parksville, British Columbia, which was scheduled for May 27 to 31, is cancelled. 

For those who have already registered: 

Please contact Financial Administrator Jackie McAlpine at scccfinancials@gmail.com and let her know how you would like her to handle your paid fees whether refund, donation, credit on account or a combination of any of these.

To cancel your accommodation at the Tigh-Na-Mara resort, contact them directly by telephone (1-800-663-7373).
