Intercultural Storytelling Festival Quebec changed its name!

Intercultural Storytelling Festival Quebec first and largest storytelling festival in Quebec, will present its fourteenth edition from 20 to 29 October 2017. This event will take place under the sign of change, first by adopting a new name: the Festival intercultural storytelling in Montreal.
Recall that at its founding in 1993, Montreal appeared in the name of the Festival. Over time, the festival has grown and events outside Montreal have multiplied. In 1999, its founder Marc Laberge chose the name Intercultural Storytelling Festival in Quebec more suitable because of its distribution in the towns and villages of Quebec, all of which have hosted performances of the Festival over the years: include among others, Granby , St. Hyacinthe, Quebec city, Lévis, Joliette, and even Ottawa ...
But the world of the story has changed a lot since its revival in the 1990s events and festivals have multiplied, and there are now storytelling festivals across Quebec. The Magdalen Islands in Sherbrooke, through Abitibi, Natashquan, Lac St-Jean, Lévis, Quebec City, and more, storyteller speech is alive and vibrant. The new artistic director Stéphanie Bénéteau now wants to refocus the festival to make the metropolis storytelling festival, witnessed an anchored contemporary art in the city, which explores current topics and speaks to audiences today all generations and origins combined.
If the tale is an ancient art, dating back to ancient times, it redefines and reinvents itself to adapt to the times and reach new generations. Intercultural Storytelling Festival of Montreal says instead of the tale in the urban fabric, with a place among the other great festivals of the metropolis.
The Festival program will be announced on 7 September. We reserve you beautiful surprises with a strong and diverse program, which will include an Aboriginal component, an LGBT component, a bold and Lit pane, theme nights, a show that celebrates Montreal and, of course, the inevitable Marathon tale. We will soon pre-unveiling of the international component of our programming and master classes that will be offered during the Festival.
