"Telling Relationships", Conference 2018

Telling Relationships, Conference 2018

SC-CC is pleased to announce Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, as the location for our next conference to be held July 4-8 2018. Peterborough County is a beautiful part of Ontario, and Trent University has comfortable, accessible facilities with accommodations in the same building as the conference.

With strong support of SC-CC’s Indigenous Advisory Council, our conference theme is on reconciliation through education under the working title of ‘Telling Relationships’. We are very pleased to also be working with advice and resources offered through the First Peoples House of Learning at Trent University.

For information and volunteer opportunities, please email and watch this page for updates on programming and other details!

Our 2019 conference will be held in Fredericton in June 2019! To connect with organizers for that conference email

More Details on Conference 2018

The 2018 conference July 4 to 8 with a bed and breakfast option will be held at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. Trent U is located on the traditional territory of the Mississauga Anishnaabe in the territory covered by the Williams Treaty. Ontario boasts the largest number of SC-CC members with an amazing roster of talent including many Indigenous artists who will be invited to join us.

By early fall, the conference planning team will share more details on its theme and selection process for performers and workshop facilitators. Tentative timing involves; master class options (more than one) on July 4; local fieldtrips, StorySave-Radio launch and French concert on July 5; conference official opening, workshops, dinners, performances, AGM and focus groups July 6-8, with formal closing by lunch on the Sunday.
