Join us May 27th to 31st, 2020 for Conference in Parksville, British Columbia! 


The theme for 2020's conference is Rivers of Voices, Ocean of Stories: Coming Together; Des flots de paroles, un océan d'histoires : au confluent des mondes.

Please fill out the following registration form indicating your workshop choices, and optional master class, field trips, and guest choices. Payment can be made using PayPal or by cheque.

Online registration for the conference closes at 10pm (EDT) on May 15th, 2020. Late registration is available if space allows.

Pricing:
Full Registration includes all workshops, keynotes, three concerts, transportation to the concert on Saturday night, breaks, lunch on Friday and Saturday, dinner on Friday and Saturday, a bag lunch on Sunday (unless you would like to register with NO FOOD. This option is available through Eventbrite).

Refund Policy

If you must cancel your conference registration for any reason, please note our refund policy:

Refunds will be processed within 30 days post conference if notification of cancellation is received by financials@storytellers-conteurs.ca

  • Before April 27th: Full refund minus $25.00 admin fee
  • Between April 28th - May 15th: 50% refund
  • After May 15th: at the discretion of Board of Directors considering exceptional circumstances
Tigh-Na-Mara Resort has its own cancellation policy for any accommodation you book.

    REGISTRATION OPTIONS/FEES

    If you are planning to purchase a guest package, you must register and pay for your guest at the same time as you register and  pay for yourself.

     

    The Guest Pass is $190, covering Friday May 29th to Sunday May 31st, and includes: dinner on Friday and Saturday, 2 Concerts, Transport to Concert, Bag Lunch on Sunday.


    Full Conference Registration includes all workshops, keynotes, three concerts, transportation to the concert on Saturday night, breaks, lunch on Friday and Saturday, dinner on Friday and Saturday, a bag lunch on Sunday.

    WORKSHOPS included in CONFERENCE REGISTRATIONS

    On Friday afternoon, you select two 90 min. workshops; one from Set One and one from Set Two, OR one 180 min workshop from Set Three.


    On Saturday morning, you select two 90 min. workshops; one from Set Four and one from Set Five, OR a 180 min workshop from Set Six. (You must also indicate the choice of ‘none selected’ from any set you don’t pick.)


    Workshop details can be found in the conference menu on the right hand side of the conference home page (May 29th and May 30th options).


    • Workshop numbers are capped to strengthen quality of participation.
    • When workshops are full, their selection option will be taken off the website.
    • The later you leave to register, the less choices of workshops may be available

    Online registration for the conference closes at 10pm (EDT) on May 15th 2020.


    Please ensure all of your selections are correct before submitting the form.  

    Latecomers who have missed the deadline for online registration, can register late if space permits. To do so, contact our administrator Erin Beaubien at admin@storytellers-conteurs.caThe cost for late registration is $425 for meal option, and $310 for the no-food option.

    MASTER CLASS

    Master Classes take place Wednesday, May 27th.

    Registration spaces for Master Classes are first come-first served. If a class becomes full, it will be indicated on this page. There are limited spaces, so book early!

    2020 Conference is offering several programming choices for workshops on Friday and Saturday. 

    On Friday afternoon, you select EITHER two short workshops (90 mins); one from Set One and one from Set Two, OR one longer workshop (180 min) from Set Three. Similarly, on Saturday morning, you select either two 90 min. workshops; one from Set Four and one from Set Five, OR a 180 min workshop from Set Six. (You must also indicate the choice of ‘none selected’ from any set you don’t pick.)


    To help make your decision, look through the first conference program for more details on the artists and sessions (see the right hand menu on the main conference page - Friday and Saturday options and Artist Bios). Select your preferred workshop within the time slots. The later you register, the more they will fill up.

    SET 1: Friday May 29th Afternoon Sessions 90 minutes, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

    * Workshops in Set 1 are 90 minutes starting at 1:00 pm. If you are selecting a workshop from this set, you may also select another workshop from Set 2, which begins at 3pm.

    * Please select your first choice for Set 1, and a back-up (second) choice for Set 1 if your first choice is full.

    • No set 1 or 2 choice. I am choosing from set 3
    • 1a. Judy Millar: Finding Your Funny Bone (1:00-2:30pm)
    • 1b. Margaret Murphy, Sandy Cole, Laurie Hutchison: The Blood and Guts of Keeping Storytelling Alive (1:00-2:30pm)

    SET 2: Friday May 29th Afternoon Sessions 90 min 3:00 pm to 4:30

    * Note that if you have selected a workshop from Set 1, you may choose another workshop from Set 2, as Set 2 begins after Set 1 is completed. If you are choosing workshops from 1 and 2, you cannot attend workshops in Set 3, as Sets 1 and 2 run concurrently with workshops in Set 3.

    * Please select your first choice for this set, and a back-up (second) choice for this set if your first choice is full.

    • No set 1 or 2 choice. I am choosing from set 3.
    • 2a. Mogensen & McLoughlin: Stories for Tapping Into Environmental Awareness and Action (3:00-4:30pm)

    * Note that if you select a workshop from Set 3, you cannot choose a workshop from Sets 1 and 2, as Set 3 runs concurrently with Sets 1 and 2.

    * Please select your first choice in this set, and have a back-up (second) choice if your first choice in this set is full.

    *Workshops in Set 4 are 90 minutes, starting at 9 am. If you are selecting a workshop from this set, you can select another workshop from set 5, as set 5 begins after set 4 ends. However if you're choosing workshops from sets 4 and 5, you cannot select from set 6, as set 6 workshops run concurrently with those in sets 4 and 5.

    *Please select your first choice for this set, and a back-up (second) choice for this set if your first choice is full.

    * Note that if you have selected a workshop from Set 4, you may also choose a workshop from Set 5 which begins after Set 4 ends. However, if you are taking workshops in sets 4 and 5, you cannot take a workshop in Set 6 as those run concurrently with Sets 4 and 5.

    If your registration is completed successfully, you will be brought to a new page with a link to pay by PayPal, and you will receive an email confirmation. If you do not get the Payment page or confirmation email, please try again or contact Erin (admin@storytellers-conteurs.ca) as your registration did not go though.
