Storytelling Orillia
Storytelling Orillia, established in 2011, welcomes tellers and listeners to a virtual story circle on the last Sunday of each month, 2-4 p.m., from September to May, until we can meet in person again after pandemic restrictions are eased. Please email storytelling.orillia@gmail.com for a link to join a monthly circle or to be added to our mailing list.
Circles often start with a presenter or have a theme, and then we take turns telling short, often personal, stories.
Our two evening events each year, usually held at the Orillia Museum of Art and History, are:- Canadian Storytelling Day in November, which began in Orillia in 2012. SO... set the theme until2019, when themes began being decided by a committee of Storytellers of Canada-Conteurs du Canada, which has generously supported the initiative.
- World Storytelling Day in March, which focuses on the international theme and either invites professional tellers or Orillians with a good story.
Please email storytelling.orillia@gmail.com to get alerts about circles and evening events.
