3021 Providence Road

Bowmanville, ON   (1 hour drive, east of Toronto)

While growing up in Scotland and Canada, Kathleen's father and mother would tell her tales of their Irish ancestors. She loved listening to those vivid stories of family heroes and scoundrels. Since that time, she has loved telling Celtic folktales, legends, and fairytales.

Kathleen enjoys investigating and narrating stories from traditional and non-traditional sources. In addition, she loves researching topics to create self-penned works that she can tell. Lately, Kathleen has become enamoured with historical narratives, which she often delivers as the central character or their close acquaintance. The majority of these stories are about Strong Canadian Women.

For many years, Kathleen has developed her storytelling craft and delivered “many-a-tale” throughout the Greater Toronto Area, York Region, Durham Region, Northumberland County Newfoundland, Scotland, and (virtually) Ottawa. She has also developed courses and workshops related to the application of storytelling for older adults.

Kathleen has provided guidance, leadership and direction as Past Chair of Durham Storytellers, and produced communications as their Public Relations Co-ordinator, Webmaster & Social Media Co-ordinator, and Communications Coordinator.
