Notice of passing: Bruce Carmody

We regret to inform the members of the recent passing of storyteller and former Storytelling Toronto board president Bruce Carmody. While on the Storytelling Toronto board, Bruce was responsible for the monitoring of the Directory and the Storytellers’ in the Schools program.

 

Bruce was recently predeceased by his wife, Pat, and there are plans for a joint Celebration of Life in the spring.

 

For those who wish to make a donation in Bruce’s memory, his charities of choice were the Ontario Field Ornithologists (ofo.ca) and L’Arche Daybreak (larchedaybreak.com)

In this session Veva Gerard will take you on a journey through the newly developed Competence model for oral Storytelling ‘Storytelling in 8 Colours’.
Are you an enthusiastic storytelling student who wants to evaluate and improve themselves,
or an inspiring storytelling trainer who wants to challenge themselves and their students,
or an established storyteller who is curious for new input,
or a visionary headmaster who is looking for a framework to start a storytelling training,
or…
Anyway, in this session you will find out more about the model and how it can be used
to inspire, invite, or challenge yourself and others, to improve, extend or complete your competences as a storyteller!

Le CFOF dévoile la programmation du 4e Festival Les vieux m’ont conté… au bord de l’eau

 

Le Centre franco-ontarien de folklore a dévoilé aujourd’hui sa programmation pour le 4e festival de contes de Sudbury, le festival Les vieux m’ont conté. Cette année, le festival se déroulera du 14 au 18 octobre avec une programmation adaptée à la pandémie, mais qui viendra toutefois embellir les soirées.
