The theme for the 2020 National Storytelling Conference is…
Empathy: The Storyteller’s Superpower
Alternative approaches to addressing our differences
We live in divided times where we can easily surround ourselves with only those who think and vote like us. Storytelling is a powerful antidote that helps us slow down, listen deeply, and engage emotionally. By telling and listening to stories with respect, we activate our hearts and minds. This year, in addition to sessions related to the art, craft, business, and applications of storytelling, we seek proposals that will help:
- Develop empathy and use it to resolve conflicts,
- Share powerful stories,
- Practice active listening,
- Connect across cultural divides,
- Find common ground,
- Communicate difficult material through story, and
- Unleash your superpower!
If you are interested in sharing your thought-provoking, innovative and practical presentations with the storytelling community don't hesitate, submit your proposal today! For more information on submitting proposals or to view the submission guidelines please click this link.
