The territory where Stephanie lives and works in St. Thomas, Ontario is on Treaty 2 land. The lands in this area are the traditional territory of the Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, and Attiwonderonk peoples. Present-day neighbours are the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, the Oneida Nation of the Thames, and the Munsee Delaware Nation.

Stephanie is a proud member of

Baden Storytellers' Guild(BSG), Storytelling Toronto, and SC-CC. As a Library Assistant at St. Thomas Public Library, Stephanie works with the programming team to create opportunities for the exploration of oral storytelling at the library and in the community.

Since oral storytelling came into Stephanie's life in 2019, she has grown as a teller and a listener. She has told to children and adults in-person and virtually. March has become an important time of year in Stephanie's life since 2021 as she prepares to perform in the BSG World Storytelling Guild and has helped for two years now with the organization of the event.

Learning the role of secretary and sharing these duties with Judy Caulfield in The BSG has helped Stephanie gain a better understanding of the work that goes on behind the scenes for oral storytelling organizations.

Along with her mentor Judy Caulfield, as nominated by The Baden Storytellers' Guild, Stephanie is grateful to have been chosen as a recipient of the SC-CC 2023 Emerging Storyteller Award.
