The territory where Stephanie lives and works in St. Thomas, Ontario is on Treaty 2 land. The lands in this area are the traditional territory of the Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, and Attiwonderonk peoples. Present-day neighbours are the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, the Oneida Nation of the Thames, and the Munsee Delaware Nation.
Stephanie is a proud member of:
Baden Storytellers' Guild(BSG), Storytelling Toronto, and SC-CC. As an Ambassador at The Atrium Stephanie is always finding ways to create opportunities for the exploration of oral storytelling in the community.
Since oral storytelling came into Stephanie's life in 2019, they have grown as a teller and a listener. They have told to children and adults in-person and virtually. March has become an important time of year in Stephanie's life since 2021 as they prepare to host the annual St. Thomas World Storytelling Day Celebration.
Along with their mentor Judy Caulfield, as nominated by The Baden Storytellers' Guild, Stephanie is grateful to have been chosen as a recipient of the SC-CC 2023 Emerging Storyteller Award. Stephanie is also grateful to SC-CC for granting them a 2025 World Storytelling Day Grant.
