Shirley Godfrey

Shirley was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and grew up on the shores of Sydney Harbour, when mining coal and making steel were still the main industries of the area.
After gaining her BA at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, she settled in Dartmouth, with her New Brunswick born husband, to play the roles of “stay at home” wife and, eventually, “stay at home” mom to three kids.
She's used her “spare” time allowed by this life choice to pursue her many interests – reading, crafting, volunteering in her church and community, travelling to explore places near and far, and listening to stories shared with her by people she has met along her way.
Shirley likes to share what she has learned along her way, as well as where her imagination has taken her. Writing, whether it was notes to herself or letters to friends and relations, was one of her outlets.

A few years ago, she discovered the Storytellers Circle of Halifax. And she has another venue for sharing her own stories.
Shirley is the SC-CC Representative to Nova Scotia.
