Maxine Gordon Palomino

Draw long bench come listen.
Worldwide stories & folklore with a Caribbean flavour … sometimes caught singing, drumming and dancing as she weaves her web of stories.
Co-Founder of Ancestral Voices We Belong, a platform that showcases Black, Indigenous, Caribbean/West Indian & African Creatives, Maxine is an Ontario & Jamaica lawyer who connects creatives with communities and moderates author events.
Her storytelling journey takes her from national and international storytelling events to educating on the techniques, power, joy and art of storytelling. She enjoys sharing (folk)tales of law, life, wisdom, creativity and resourcefulness, and the connections that often result from that sharing.
Her hobbies include curating items and stories that highlight Caribbean/West Indian culture and history; reading; poetry & short story writing.
As she travels on her storytelling adventure, Maxine seeks to share and exchange knowledge, tell unwritten stories, and give voice to those who are often overlooked.
