Colette Laplante
Colette is an enthusiastic and animated storyteller. her stories range from true tales through the ages to myths and legends. She loves to tell stories about her home city, Ottawa - formally Bytown. She has stories for adults and the young and will gladly dress up to suite the times or themes.
She and a two other storytellers have been telling for tales at the Medieval Fair at Upper Canada Village for the past three years. For the past four years, Colette has been invited by the City of Ottawa to tell tales about Ottawa during Heritage Month at a variety of libraries in the city.
Colette is also an independent tourist guide, providing tours and telling tales about the people and places in the National Capital Region. She sometimes dresses as Mother McGuinty or Agnes Macphael on such tours. Her tours are filled with stories and not just historical facts, making the experience for her visitors that much more memorable.
She looks forward to telling her tales through audio and video recordings, to share them with listeners everywhere.
