Claire Miller retired as a performing professional storyteller after more than thirty years of telling stories to all kinds of audiences, in all kinds of venues, throughout the Maritimes, Ontario, and New England. For twenty years she told primarily to children in schools and libraries; then, for the final decade of her career, she collaborated frequently with musicians and choral groups to present story concerts to adult audiences. She is now available as a one-on-one mentor and as a researcher of stories: in other words, she is a storytelling "Dear Abby" for storytellers, librarians, teachers and others looking for advice on how to find and present stories, how to put together a storytelling program, how to combine story and music. In 2015 Claire was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Saint Mary's University for her work as a "Maritime pioneer in the art of oral storytelling."
