Our Emerging Storyteller Scholarship was established in 2015. We offer four months’ mentoring for an emerging storyteller, by an accomplished teller, plus complimentary admission to our upcoming conference and one-year membership to SC-CC. To celebrate the award, the recipient/s are invited to perform at one of the conference events.

Storytellers of Canada – Conteurs du Canada is seeking proposals from experienced professional storytellers for the next SC-CC conference, which will be held in Halifax Nova Scotia from June 18 - 22, 2025 at Saint Mary's University. We are looking for artists to perform in two evening concerts and to deliver Master classes and/or workshops reflecting the diversity inherent to oral tradition. 

We will also be offering a virtual conference package that includes access to live-streamed concerts, presentations, and a selection of online-only workshops.

The conference theme for 2025 is 'Roots and Branches: celebrating shared heritage and cultural linkages old and new.'  For the concerts, we will be looking for story proposals that illustrate our connections, our shared pasts and our common futures.
