Not In My Time: The Folktales of Newfoundland

Let storyteller and folklorist Dale Jarvis carry you away to a fog-shrouded, fairytale version of the island of Newfoundland, complete with flying boats, giants, missing fingers, fairies, phantoms, and a well-travelled fellow by the name of Jack! Dale tells stories from the oral tradition of Newfoundland, which has a long history of legends and folktales.

Dale Jarvis is a storyteller and professional folklorist who splits his time between St. John’s and Clarke’s Beach, Newfoundland, Canada. The proprietor of the St. John’s Haunted Hike ghost tour, Dale tells ghost stories, supernatural stories, legends and traditional tales from Newfoundland, Labrador and beyond. Community broadcaster and author of several books, he is a tireless promoter of oral traditions.

Featured Storyteller -  Cindy Campbell-Stone
Tales From a Trailer Park Girl

Cindy Campbell-Stone grew up in a trailer park in Eastern Passage where she was the kid
'minder' and 'fun maker' of the neighbourhood. As a Tom boy, she had many interesting
adventures and misadventures which followed her into adulthood. Cindy believes her love of
play, fantasy and adventure began in that little trailer park by the sea. She has stories to tell that are of personal experience or folkloric influence for an audience both willing and gullible enough to believe in such tales.
