Hello Story Lovers!
We've got something new for you to kick off the 2016 Rain City Chronicles season. On March 24th,Rain City Chronicles is back and teaming up with Here There for our first, ever Record Clubfeaturing one of our favourite albums of all time, The Smiths' The Queen is Dead.
With special guest co-host CBC’s Lisa Christensen, The Record Club is a storytelling night that hits repeat on some of the best personal stories inspired by The Smiths, told live. For all the sleepless nights we’ve collectively spent staring up at the ceiling wondering how it all went wrong, The Smiths’ The Queen is Dead has been the soundtrack to our lovelorn woes. Whether you’re the boy with the thorn in his side or you’ve been caught crying your eyes out to “I Know It’s Over”, we’re revisiting some of our favourite true stories inspired by Moz and the gang.
If you are a long time lover of Rain City Chronicles the format will be familiar, but with a few new elements. The night kicks off with a happy hour, listening party of the titular album before an evening of stories with a musical guest. Newsletter subscribers get first dibs and tickets are available now.
We'll have more announcements soon about upcoming classic Rain City Chronicles events, too!
Let’s go where we’re happy and we’ll we meet you at the cemetery gates!
