In Memoriam: David Blackmore, Parskville BC
It is with great sadness that we share the news that David Blackmore, husband of past SC-CC President Marva Blackmore, passed away on November 4th.
David was a regular presence at Around Town Tellers and Mid-Island Storytellers on Vancouver island, and his kind words and gentle humour were always appreciated. He provided tireless, behind-the-scenes support to Marva in all her storytelling ventures, as she founded and ran Mid-Island Storytellers (MIST) in Parksville-Qualicum, and organized the SC-CC National Conference in Parksville this past May.
David was also an artist in his own right. After retiring from a distinguished career with the Medical Council of Canada, David was able to devote his time to fine art and digital photography. He traveled to many locations around the world to capture some of his most unusual images.
David will be truly missed, and we offer our condolences to Marva and the Blackmore family.
