Calling All Indigenous Storytellers!

Calling All Indigenous Storytellers!
Are you an Indigenous Storyteller and/or Storykeeper, or do you know someone who is?
The Indigenous Advisory Council of the Storytellers of Canada-Conteurs du Canada (SC-CC) is looking for you!
Stories have been told since time immemorial and are still being told by Indigenous tellers on this land. The world needs to hear our stories from all of our territories.
Stories ensure resilience, inspire reconciliation, and promote understanding.
Our ancient stories are endangered and new stories are emerging every day - it is our responsibility to bring these stories to all nations to make this world a better place.
In recognition of this important initiative, for the year Sept 1 2017 to Aug 31 2018, SC-CC has graciously waived the membership fee for new Indigenous storytellers joining this national storytelling organization. You can apply for membership here. Once your application is complete, you will be listed in the same Storytellers Directory as everyone else. Feel free to provide as much or as little information as you wish for this public profile, or you can choose not to have your profile published.
Uncertain? We don't have an official definition for Indigenous Storyteller, but if you feel that you could benefit from being a member of SC-CC, and self-identify as Indigenous, you are very welcome to apply!
Questions? Please get in touch with us at indigenous@storytellers-conteurs.ca.

Thanks for spreading the word! We want to:
- encourage more participation by Indigenous tellers of Canada
- better serve the needs of Indigenous storytellers, and
- increase the knowledge and interaction between non-Indigenous and Indigenous storytellers
