Storytellers for Children is an active response to the growing interest in storytelling for children and youth and is committed to promoting storytelling to children and youth and developing a national; network for storytellers, families and communities.
Storytellers for Children is a member-based association co-ordinate by volunteer executive directors: April Nicolle/Kim Michele
What We Do
Co-host performances with public libraries, historic settings, Riverdale Farm literacy networks and other organizations
Provide storytelling concerts for children and their families
Facilitate bi-annual adult storytelling Swaps called the Talking Pot to discuss resources, strategies, voices and visions for our work with children and youth, as well as to grow from and encourage one another
Produce storytelling newsletters, bibliographies, thematic pamphlets reviews of events and oral tradition resources
Present professional development workshops for E.C.E. seminars, parent-education networks, teachers, librarians children’s literature scholars, storytellers, and others
