3A | Jennifer Ferris - Knowledge is Power: Using story to combat despair about the environment

How does altruism manifest itself in the way we tell stories about the environment? What are the best methods to influence without preaching? And, finally, what are the best stories? Our listeners need to know that, despite bleak news, they can be agents for change. This workshop calls upon tellers who have had experience and success in this work, inviting them to share their knowledge. It is also for those who wish to learn.



3B | Rachel Dunstan Muller - From Seed to Story: Crafting Original Wonder Tales

Participants in this workshop will explore, create, work, play, listen and share. We’ll plant new story-seeds and engage in imaginative exercises to help them take root. We’ll learn how to nourish the soil of our imaginations. We'll discuss the importance of structure in creating a satisfying story and explore some potential plots. Each participant will leave with the outline for a new wonder tale and the tools to ‘grow’ many more.


3C | Camille Ménard Deslauriers - Droit au coeur : contes multisensoriels atelier pratique / Straight to the heart: multisensorial storytelling

4A |  Will Morin- Powaagan: More Peace Please

The Story of the Powaagan, the Sacred Pipe is sacred tool of Indigenous Peoples of the Americas / Turtle Island. It has a long history of "Peace" between tribes, and nations, present in the signing of 'treaties' with settler cultures/governments. When we speak our truth, in the ceremony, in the circle, daily during the treaty signing, our truth is seen. When we share our truth, what then exists between us is Peace. 


4B | Lynda Bruce & Sylvie Proulx - Including sounds in your stories

This participatory workshop for storytellers working with children will be led by Lynda Bruce and Sylvie Proulx. In this workshop, you will experiment with the creative process of developping a story with sounds while engaging children in the process. Participants will play the role of children. With a bachelor's degree in music education, Sylvie Proulx has been teaching music and drama to children for more than ten years. Lynda Bruce will facilitate the English-speaking part of this workshop.


4C | Nadyne Bédard - Discover your traditions: nurturing and passing on cultural knowledge

In this workshop, participants will be invited to reflect upon their traditional practices. Using a simple tool, they will work in teams to identify their own traditional cultural practices, as well as those of their family, their community, and the tradition bearers. Each team will then choose one of these traditional cultural practices and think about practical actions to preserve it. They will then share their thoughts with the entire group. The goal of this exercise is to make you realize that there are traditional patterns and activities in our daily life that can be documented, shared, and integrated into our own practice to keep them alive.
