| Toronto | The Four Winds Library (FWL) is a lending library for storytellers owned by Toronto storyteller Norm Perrin. It is open to all storytellers, teachers and other professionals as wellas the casual reader. Most books are available for borrowing except forcertain valuable or delicate volumes. These may be read at the libraryitself. Donations are requested for use of the library. These donations allow the Four Winds Library to expand its collection.
With nearly 1,600 books of folktales and reference material, the FWL covers every continent (Except Antarctica!) and most of the world'scountries. Maison Chénier-Sauvé ll n'y a pas que les enfants qui aiment se faire conter des histoires, les adultes aussi. Depuis quelques années le conte a retrouvé ses lettres de noblesse, on voit des conteurs à la télé, sur scène, dans des cafés, des bistros, des bars, et dans de nombreux festivals. Depuis 2003, nous faisons venir des conteurs, d’Europe, d’Afrique, et même d’Asie en plus des meilleurs conteurs du pays et de la région. Les spectacles ont généralement lieu en soirée, l’entrée est libre mais il est préférable de réserver. Une collation est servie à l’entracte. Nous pouvons également organiser des soirées de contes à domicile, dans des clubs sociaux, des écoles, des bibliothèques et cela pour toutes occasions. La Maison des arts de la parole
La Maison des arts de la parole (formerly Productions Littorale) is a cultural organization dedicated to promote and disseminate storytelling and performance poetry in the Eastern Townships. We regularly present storytelling shows for children and adults and performance poetry shows in the heart of downtown Sherbrooke. In parallel, we orchestrate two annual festivals: the festival Les jours sont contés, an event that unfolds every year throughout the Eastern Townships, with storytellers from Quebec and abroad, and, most recently, the festival du texte court, devoted to brief literary and performative practices. Wishing to participate in the development of storytelling in Quebec, we also offer workshops for professional and emerging artists across the province. Because we believe in the educational value and social impact of storytelling and performance poetry, we also offer activities in schools, among other community actions. 3rd Friday of the month Sep -June Kathy Bennet storytellers@sasktel.net The Saskatoon Storytellers’ Guild began back in 1981, and its purpose through the years has been to promote the art of Storytelling and create a supportive community of storytellers in Saskatoon. Our main activity has been monthly story telling sessions or "circles", but we occasionally organize concerts and workshops. All our activities are geared for adults. Many of us work with children regularly, so this group provides us with a chance to grow and develop our skills without the challenges of entertaining children.
